My Story
Without fail, after everything I fix or build I always get asked “how do you know how to do that?”. The only explanation I have is that its in my genes. Hi, I’m Ashley, and I come from generations of handymen, carpenters, mechanics, farmers, engineers and nurses. I fix things, its just what I’m programmed to do! Its been a hobby for decades and in 2023 after leaving a 20+ year career in sports marketing, I’m following my passion full time; Birch Builds is now building (and fixing & teaching) for YOU!

I wouldn’t call myself a Handy(wo)man, or even a "Jane of all Trades", but I am a Home Maker and redefining that term. Being a mom & wife, I thrive on tackling projects that bring organization, practicality, design, and most importantly, JOY to a home. From creating custom built-ins, floating decks, fireplaces, playhouses, and accent walls, to updating kitchens & bathrooms, installing pocket doors, floors, swapping light fixtures & faucets, tiling & wiring, and even fixing so much kid damage (holes in walls, broken everything), I’ve done a lot over the years.
